Great designs, both the 64 & 78’s. They have over a 5,500 mile range. A few years ago a group of FPBs rallied in Antarctica. Steve Dashew has quit designing and is now out cruising.

One intended part of the design is that the boat look vaguely military - including the unpainted aluminum and many levels. In the 3rd world ports Steve liked to go, military boats get a lot of respect from the locals.

The narrow, square sided design is also incredibly slippery. Amazing fuel range.

If you want pretty, this isn’t your boat.

it’s 3/4” toughened safety glass.

What is even more impressive (@ 7:38),he states 16L/hr per engine @ 1500RPM-32 L/hr total!

That is only 7 Imp gal-8.5 USgal / hr.
