It should go to NZ in perpetuity. They built the boats there, the majority of the crews come from either there or
Auckland West ( aka Australia) , something on the high side of 100% of the population are interested in it, and the
government appears willing to put
money into it.
And with out the Americas Cup what does Unzud have? Lord of the Rings movies and some sheep and stuff.....
For my part if I didn't have a few kiwi friends I wouldn't have known there was a
race going on in SF. I'm heading to
Auckland next week and have been advised 'don't talk about the cup'... it may be a bit like John Cleese and 'don't talk about the war'....
