I don’t think this is true. Also, the link you provide does not mention mobile service at all.

Had my hopes up too!

Perhaps change the thread title; they announced a Premium service for businesses with multiple locations, not a mobile service for consumers.

Not mobile as others have mentioned, rather:
"UNLIMITED SERVICE LOCATIONS
Starlink is ideal for rural and remote locations. Order as many Starlinks as needed and manage all of your service locations, no matter how remote, from a single account."

Which part? I have bolded the sections that seem to indicate both the huge cost increase, the change in antenna and the lack of geo-locking from the article linked. I want to be happy that it's getting closer, but that is a massive cost increase.

"The new SpaceX product comes at five times the cost of standard service: Starlink Premium requires a $500 refundable deposit, a $2,500 fee for the antenna and router, and service costs $500 per month.
Starlink Premium has more than double the antenna capability of Starlink,
Unlike the standard product, which only guarantees service at a specific service address, SpaceX says Starlink Premium is capable of connecting from anywhere."

I stand corrected. Only a twice as sensitive dish, not geo-fenced for 5x the price and 5x the monthly rate, so you'd still have to update the address every time you move, makes me even less pleased about it. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though, since the competition is still many times that.

Where does it say that?

Nothing makes sense. Not a single mention of mobile use in anything you highlighted nor anywhere does it say service address is required and must be updated

Re: Starlink mobile announced. Business rates ?

I got all excited about this as well but after carefully reading what they actual wrote vs what my brain hoped they wrote it appears that this might not be what we're looking for. I was just hoping it meant no geofencing, but they never even come out and say that, let alone anything about mobile service. In reality it looks more like an enterprise system that allows an organization to control multiple dishes under one account. I hope I'm wrong, but not willing to spend the bucks on ordering it just to test it out. They're still telling me 2022 for service under the legacy system for my Bahamas house and premium won't even let me order for that location.

Re: Starlink mobile announced. Business rates ?

I can’t see the need for 150-500Mbps service; it’s over the top.

What we need is the regular service for mobile application.

Yeah, no kidding. The more sensitive dish is interesting to me though, 2x as sensitive and up to 3x more throughput makes me suspect that it will be much more tolerant of motion induce signal degradation, and then maybe a simple pivoting mount as opposed to a true gimballed one could at least account for heeling, I've seen a radar hung on the backstay this way.

Seems like some of you people that tinker with electronics could adapt a gimbaled 2 way antenna to use the Starlink modem.

I'd buy one.

Not as simple as it sounds. The Starling antenna has it's own positioning motors. Just keeping the mount horizontal is probably not enough. The azimuth would most likely need to be kept constant or the positioning logic would go nuts.

A mobile antenna mount for a rolling, pitching yawing boat would need to be designed from scratch. Same issue for aviation with even faster positioning required.

This announcement does open up other possibilities. A reseller could hold a master license and resell service and antennas.
