Now, I raise the question, what happens to her boat, which besides being dismasted is still in great condition. Does the fishing vessel tow, does she motor alongside the vessel? What happens to Wild Eyes?

Motoring at 10knots that's about a six day escapade from land, hmm. So if they did opt for that she'd be six days out still, but wouldn't lose her boat and the money invested in it to something that hasn't compromised the integrity of the boat other than to make it incapable of being sailed.

If I were in the same situation the boat would be coming with me by hook or by crook.

Also, if the engine isn't working there should be an engineer on the fishing vessel headed her way. I mean, it's a shame to leave the boat out their like that.

You sure she could motor that swiftly in the conditions she's in? If they could get the engine going.

Motoring at 10 knots I doubt she would have enough fuel for a day. Now I don't know exactly how much fuel she was carrying but it wouldn't get here to Australia at any speed. But 6 knots would get her closer.

No no, she has a fishing vessel with fuel, and fuel to spare, I'm sure, headed her way. Compared to the amount of fuel a sailboat can carry I'm sure it's like a drop in the tank for the fishing boat headed her way.

Hopefully diesel.

Sara brings up a good point that I missed. I don't think that boat would be able to motor at 10 knots on smooth water.

She is alive at last report, it now must be late night before midnight, and a long night and a long day ahead of her then a difficult and dangerous manouver to get her on boat this fishing boat.

I don't wish to imagine how hard it will be for her tonight.

Has she cut the mast away? Has the weather abated more? Is the mastless boat more or less stable? Does the increased righting moment make it very uncomfortable/dangerous? Has she deployed a para anchor or is she drifting ahull in enormous breaking seas?
Is the wreckage clear of her boat so the other boat can come alongside? (or whatever method one uses)

Is her survival suit (I guess she is in hers) working well?
Is she warm and whats the hypothermic graph if she's not warm?
Can she light the stove to make a hot meal. She will need all her energy for tomorows transfer.

Its not an easy situation. As Tony Bullimore found out it was a number of days till he was found. Do we know anything about the fishing boat heading her way? Is it capable? Fuel state? Crew capable?

Many things to think about for this situation before there is a sucessful resolution.

Latest I have heard, was the mast and rigging were trailing astern. It might help act as a sea anchor perhaps,

We have just heard from the Australian Search and Rescue. The plane arrived on the scene moments ago. Wild Eyes is upright but her rigging is down. The weather conditions are abating. Radio communication was made and Abby reports that she is fine!

We don't know much else right now. The French fishing vessel that was diverted to her location will be there in a little over 24 hours. Where they will take her or how long it will take we don't know.

She has two weeks of food on board and has the space heater working. The boat is otherwise intact and not taking on water.
