Young Bachelors Cruising Destinations?

Need advice. We're 2 youngish guys (early 30's) on a 45' Beneteau and starting to cruise the Caribbean.

We're still in the going out / partying / meeting girls phase and only enjoy the solitude of the hook every so often.

We're in Puerto Adventuras now and enjoy the forays into Playa del Carmen, however it's a pain in the ass to take the combis/cabs out there and back. So, marinas closer to the hotspots would be a huge plus.

So, the question is where are the hot-spots at?

If you were/are young and single, where would you go?

(though we're in the Caribbean now, world wide advice is also welcome, and feel free to PM me if a conversation is better than a post.)

It sounds more like you are still in the clubbing phase. Parties can be made wherever you happen to be.

For your plans, just check the cruise ship ports of call.

Re: Young Bachelors Cruising Destinations?

Virgin Islands (all of them) enjoy a great nightlife scene - particular Cruz Bay, St John, and Red Hook, St Thomas (US islands). BVIs check out White Bay, Jost Van Dyke or Willy T's in Norman Island for the wildest party you'll find in the Caribbean. Next stop heading East should be Dutch side St Martin/St Maarteen - famous for ridiculous nightlife/club/strip club scene (though the French side is the nicer side to anchor. St BArth's is full of impossibly beautiful French girls, if you can afford to stay/party there. Give Antigua a skip unless you're looking to pick up yachty girls/stewardesses off mega yachts (good luck). If you're heading South it gets more difficult. Martinique and Guadloupe are huge islands but you need to speak French or have a French speaker/friend/translator in both. Grenada has a laid back sailor/cruiser scene, then trinidad is a mix of everything but be careful about security there.

Best of luck, from a fellow 20-something bachelor, on a Beneteau First 43 (1988 - German Frers lines) 'Alize'

I'll second Willy T's and a little tamer but still fun was the bitter end yacht club on virgin gorda has a bar, band, and dance floor right on the water.

I've done the cruise ship thing and remember that everyone has to be back on the boat to leave before the night life would have a chance to start.

Like the difference here between cozumel and playa del carmen. World of difference.

If you still have to ask where the parties are, you guys need a LOT more practice!

Re: Young Bachelors Cruising Destinations?

Its really a "when".
If you are thinking Christmas New Year then its a short sail from the Western Caribbean to St Barts. WRHIII is correct that the women are impossably good looking... And on new years eve there are a bevvy of them looking for parties to go to. None of the superyacht crew are competition because they are all on their boats looking after guests

Before and after St Barts is St Martin and the huge flock of rampant one night (discreetly) superyacht crews. Its a shag fest as long as you get them back to their boat before dawn. And then they might sail off for a charter and leave you. PERFECT!

Then later, afetr the cruising season in the hurricane season, if you are well traveled, danger aware, with some slight Spanish, I would head to Venezualea. The girls there are a fraction starved of Western men.

And then, of course, Brazil....
