Power catamarans - electronic engines - synchronizing

Do power catamarans with modern, electronic engines have synchronizers?

Lately, we've been giving strong consideration to a power Cat as our next boat. All of them seem to have electronically-controlled engines. So far, we haven't found a single one with an engine sync and we're confused as to why.

Our old 1986 Chris Craft had a Glendinning synchronizer. It was mechanical, of course, but worked great. We're hoping our next boat will have something similar. Of course, with the engines being so far apart on a Cat and being electronic, a mechanical cable synchronizer would be impractical. Is there an electronic version? Does syncing the engines not really matter on power Cats or is there some mystical talisman you rub that makes it all happen by magic?

Such a simple thing but it has us scratching our heads. We're still learning.

Thanks.

John

I have a sailing cat with Yanmar VC10 electronic throttles and they sync at the push of a button...

Most fly by wire throttle systems have sync. or can have sync. It would be older mechanical set up that may be more difficult but still doable. Back in the 60's I ran a twin with a separate sync. unit that I had to manually adjust with throttles.

All Yanmar engines that have electronic (fly by wire) controls sync with a simple push of a button and interface very well with Garmin MFD electronics to display rpm, fuel consumption, temps, fuel tanks etc. etc.
