Oh, one of the originals! They produced very few Tiberons. There is a great book titled "Sailing down the mountain" with lots of info on them.

They come in a lot of layouts so if you like this particular layout I would say that is in favor for going out to take a look.

I do know that boat was in Dana Point and for sale until a year or so ago, it does require a 45' slip because of the bowsprit. Also it is listed with a broker.

Afraid all I can say is that it USED to look pretty clean from a distance. I don't believe the name has been changed.
Also if you enter the name Fleur de Lys in this search it comes up as listing number 3, looks like same owner last 10 years.

Calif.Ted and Zboss Thank you for the information. still have not heard back from lister. So maybe it has been sold.
Especially the 45' slip did not figure on that at all.

Re: Cabo Rico ketch

It looks like this one is sold, anyway.

However, I owned hull #36 of this model for years (the last one produced before turning into the CR38), and really loved the boat. There are some issues with the decks on these. If the core hasn't been replaced, it will need to be for sure.

The rudder should also be taken apart and redone if it has not been undertaken already.

Overall, I would say that the T36 is really an excellent cruising boat. I sailed lots of offshore miles on mine, and she was always a reliable partner, and a really nice boat to live on for her size.

Good luck finding one.

I now own hull #36! You must have sold it to Randy and Sharon D.
they renamed it Saracen and Sailed it to North Carolina by way of New Zealand. Where I eventually bought her and moved her to Mississippi.

I have her on the hard for what was going to be a one year refit but now is on year two. I'm OCD I guess.

I would love to fill in the blanks on her history if you have time.

Please PM me when you have time.
Thanks

Re: Cabo Rico ketch

CaptJames, I have bought Fleu de Lys and have found her to b in fine shape. She has some very minor deck crush under the mizzen, but otherwise her decks are solid. The rudder will need to b rebuilt and her electronics are old...replacing the charger/inverter this weekend. We sailed her from San Diego to Oxnard where she lies now, and had a wonderful trip. The boat handles well and took care of us in heavy seas from Avalon to Long Beach. We are very happy w/our new home and would welcome any insight from other owners.

We met Saracen in Mexico in ~1988, and sailed much the same seas for the next few years. Became close to Randy and Sharon, and enjoyed many a Sunday gin fizz on board. Remember giving them a hand with bottom paint in the yard at Riatea...

They always thought highly of the boat, and she served them well.

Good onya for undertaking the refit, and I hope you can get her back into the water soon.

Well It is a small world after all!

I did not know Randy and Sharon but I have come to know them by the many documents and logs left on board. Including one "World Famous Gin Fizz Recipe".

Randy passed away 4 or 5 years ago. The gentleman that brokered the sale knew them well and told me a lot about the boat and there travels.

Believe it or not the boat is still solid after all those sea miles and the stories and your post only motivates me to get her back in Bristol condition and back out there!

Cheers,
Jim
