Cruising to Cuba then onto Bahamas

We will be 2 trawlers cruising to Cuba early May probably KW to Havana then onto Varadero with our last stop at Puerto De Vita before crossing to the Ragged Islands. Realize this is the opposite of the Bahamas Loop which have the current/wind in our favor and would ask if any others have run this route in Spring and if you would share your experience and advice to this inquiry.

Thank you!
