MacBook chartplotter software

Hello, I have been testing this MacOS chartplotter software since past few weeks. The installer package download link is on this page.

Supports USB as well as TCP/UDP interface for both GPS and AIS.
I have a really old (15+ years) Holux Bluetooth GPS. It was able to recognize that.

Looks interesting. What are your impressions of features and functions? Better than Navionics on an iPad?

The biggest advantage compared to iPad is that GPS receivers work out of the box. I have really old bluetooth GPS and even it worked with the Macbook appl.( It also works with opencpn. )
I have never been able to get it to work with the iPad.

There was another option, MacENC but it has been discontinued.

iNavX, the app it mentions only runs on iPhone/iPad (iOS)

So it's interesting to have a new alternative.
