What is it with video editors these days, can't they hold a shot for more than one second?

Do they think that's the way to sell boats? Or is it supposed to be "artistic"?

Bloody annoying is what it is.

I'd have one though, in spite of the video.

Outremer bought Gunboat and produced at the same facility. Hopefully some GB will spill over to my 51.

That video looks spectacular, but so too do the videos of those big racing cats flying hulls with wave piercing bows just before the big gust of wind pitch poles them. I wonder what the insurance premium would be (if it it is indeed insurable) and what the riders would be - fully professional crew required?. If I was the insurer watching that video, i would be thinking of a big big number.

Re: Gunboat 68 - Hull 1!

Everything is insurable - just how much - like the boat itself!
There is a system called Upside Up - that many of these speedy Cats (see SV Wildling blog/web page) have installed that have sensors and releases built into the computer program that when a combination of heeling, wind speed, and pressure are reached it automatically releases the sheets, traveler, etc to slow the boat down and reduce loads. I am looking into it - not very expensive given the safety factor - just depends on how much you want to push - speed is fun, it is also a safety factor - nice being able to outrun a weather system or getting to port sooner and not be exposed, but for a guy who can afford that boat I would want to wind it up once in awhile and hear her scream. I have a sports car with 500HP - usually do the 'speed' surrounding me on the highway, but once in awhile on an open stretch, or familiar curves - its nice to let the ponies snort a bit.

If you can afford the boat, you can afford the insurance.

Those wave piercing bows really throw up a lot of water when it's moving. It's like they are scooping it up and throwing it overhead. It's gonna be wet in the front cockpit.

I wonder what it costs? $4 to $5 mill maybe?
