But I'm thinking two tethers one in the cockpit and one at the mast ought to do the trick along with my tied on "rope" lifelines.

Well, you could injure yourself hitting the rail hard..............whereas with a cable or rope lifeline the shock is taken up by the lifeline

They can keep you afloat a very long time if it isn't rough.

You blow them up just a you would a raft. You just have to tie off the legs and keep the waist section below water facing down.

I have no attachment points besides the cabin hand rails. The jackline I used one time ran from bow to stern with the tether hooked to it.

Now I use the tether attached to the cabin hand rails...

I bought a tether and a jackline a few years back then realized that if I did fall I'd be dragged along behind the boat unless I could get myself into a good position to pull myself back to the...
