Well said! Multiple points just means multiple opportunities for failure or user error.

Also assumes user never checks or adjust jack line tension.

You are on the right path. Fall protection is designed to arrest the person from falling to the ground. That is not relevant to a boat. Fall protection lets you call a distance (+/-4') before...
