Re: Has Anyone Used Copper Coat Antifouling ?
I have no idea how often the boat was used. But my past experience is that even with regular cleanings, here in the Bay Area copper-loaded epoxies just do not perform well. |

Re: Has Anyone Used Copper Coat Antifouling ?
1.- Coppercoat is not "paint" and its use might not be banned under any presumed future regulation in your area. 2.- Because of the way copper-loaded epoxies (such as Coppercoat) work, the... |

Re: Has Anyone Used Copper Coat Antifouling ?
We cleaned a Hallberg Rassey 43 berthed in the Berkeley Marina earlier this summer. Coppercoat bottom was several years old. The hull was so foul and difficult to clean that I had to charge the owner... |

Re: Has Anyone Used Copper Coat Antifouling ?
Adding pepper to anti fouling paint (or any paint) has never been shown to be effective. If you take your anti fouling advice from third world fishermen, you get what you deserve. |

Re: Has Anyone Used Copper Coat Antifouling
No, I'm saying we DO NOT ever haul out to simply clean the bottom. That is done by divers like myself, 4-15 times per year (or more) depending on location. Our season is all year long. |

Re: Has Anyone Used Copper Coat Antifouling
Still see yachts with copper sheathing every once in a while. |

Re: Has Anyone Used Copper Coat Antifouling
Maybe where you live, but in much of the world in-water hull cleaning is a regular, frequent part of boat maintenance. On the west coast of the U.S., one would not not haul the boat to perform a... |

Re: Has Anyone Used Copper Coat Antifouling
I think the supposed advantage to an anti fouling coating like Copper Coat (which isn't actually a "paint") is that it lasts for a very long time, not that it needs less cleaning than other coatings... |

Re: Has Anyone Used Copper Coat Antifouling
In regions of moderate to high fouling, in-water hull cleaning is a regular, necessary part of boat maintenance. In these regions, there is no anti fouling coating that will keep a bottom clean for... |

Re: Has Anyone Used Copper Coat Antifouling
To all considering Copper Coat- bear in mind that region of use is a determining factor in anti fouling performance. Someone using this product in England may have a vastly different experience with... |
