Mr Google says as of July last year they only insure boats over $1m, unless you're an existing client.
Have you heard anything like this?
I'm going to ask them for a quote anyway.

I vaguely remember MarkJ having big delays with the French side, getting all the right papers or something, and then sending incomplete stuff and having to wait before being told he needed more....

I think the situation is clear to all, and Factor summed it up succintly.

The brokerage fee will have GST charged on it, but that is of absolutely no interest to the buyer because it's a service...

VAT would only need to be paid if you were imp[orting the boat into Euro based countries
Totally irrelevant bringing it to Aus.

Tax office accepts it's exempt, but Customs is their agent for collecting the tax (GST) and they haven't been instructed that there is an exemption, and...
