I don't think it is possible to back down too hard on an anchor. It will get backed down a lot more in a decent wind and swell. |

I know it's been discussed, but for new folks perusing here, I love my Danforths but I wouldn't recommend them unless you know they won't be pulled 180. The chain can swing around the shank and help... |

Can I add a caveat to that? (since I think I am the last one still using Danforths regularly!):smile: The Danforth/Fortress type will skip along the bottom and kind of "fly" if you are moving too... |

So I am an outlier, but in my neighborhood I am always setting two hooks, bow and stern, so I am using Danforths, and have NO plans to trade them in. In one-direction pull, they are pretty hard to... |
