I don’t want to Hijack the thread, maybe we should start a thread on what’s the best lead cruiser battery chemistry, and why?
AGM’s are very intolerant to PSOC cycling and you need to get to 100%...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Knowing more about batteries now than I did when I bought these, I would not go with AGM again, but Gel.
I went with AGM cause first they would fit and second they were made by Concorde, and...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

This the cheap one I use, and have used for three years and it has worked well so far.
However as has been said, you can’t pulse it, it gives you a couple of feet or nothing....

Through a sea gull filter is one way. If you look at its specs, it’s pretty impressive.

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Our little Haier washing machine uses very little power, I was surprised at how little.
However it uses an enormous amount of water, I measured it once but have forgotten how much, but it was...

Spectra, of course the larger ones, can make an enormous amount of water, they are not low volume watermakers.
Just they are not inexpensive either.
Those of us with AC “high volume” watermakers...

Source of chain markers, maybe a link?
Paint I used is not going to cut it, it’s mostly gone now and I am going primarily by feel and they way the scope looks from the bow.

The concept of a true custom build is so far beyond me, I’d have to be led I’m afraid.
That and my desires and the wife’s may clash. I’d want things like easily removable interior to access...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Consumer drives design, I’ll agree there.
However the consumer does not care about being able to service the Boat, that’s dirty work, you hire people to do dirty work, your too important. They...

Years ago I toured the Mercedes factory in Germany. I learned that any design Engineer they had first did an apprenticeship on the factory floor and service center.

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

I don’t want to hijack too much, more of a when you buy a manufactured Boat, you have to live with what the manufacturer thought was best, but if you get to design it, maybe you don’t have to have as...

The big difference between you and people like me that are just starting out is experience.
You know what you want and need, I have to theorize what we may want, so therefore I over prepare and...

As as far as ice makers, the portable counter top ones can’t be beat in my mind.
They are very cheap and easily replaced for $100. My Brother always had built in icemakers, both in his home and on...

Just a backup, for you never know. This is to my way of thinking a rather large boat, and certainly not inexpensive. And where we cruise every now and again it gets stupid hot and the biting insects...

Interesting Boat, I can’t imagine doing without a generator for a boat this size and cost, much less refrigeration/ freezer.

Maybe not where the boat is being built, but in the US down South on Commercial fishing boats, Rhino liner is often used on deck where the nets etc. go. I think it would work well here too.

Or get a water bladder tank made to fit and cut the top off of it.

I like the plastic barrel idea myself, I used to carry fuel in those exact barrels to go deep sea fishing on the swim platform...

I’d adhere a thin rubber sheet to the box with aircraft fuel tank sealant.
It’s meant of course to line aluminum aircraft fuel tanks, and is at least as good an adhesive as 5200 and it has decades...

I have had pretty good luck with citric acid for passivation.
