I use just 1 arm ascender while sitting in a chair. You can get a foot ascender that straps to your shoe but then you might need some sort of descender too if your shoulders are weak. ATN... |

I have 1 modern climbing ascender to help getting up the mast. The teeth are super aggressive so you wouldn't use it on your boat lines. You end up needing a complete rig with dedicated rope to use... |

It would be easy to sew a fold into any tether to allow some shock absorption . As the threads break, they slow things down a little. You see that feature used as an indicator in safety belts... |

Yeah the US Navy course I took was of no value. I can see why now. We were not shown how to blow up our pants like a raft. |

Rusty equipment sucks. Rust flakes get everywhere, little parts stop working etc.. Plain steel has no place above deck on a fiberglass boat. |
