A generic oil cooler will suffice. Match the sizes of the generic unit (tube dia, length) to Yanmar unit, good to go. May have to adapt mounting system, but no need to pay Yanmar prices

I maxed out prop dia and pitch so I run at 28-2900 rpm at wot. That gets me to theoretical hull speed 7.4 kts. Seldom run that long at wot. typical cruise 22-2400

Noise may be a major issue. All hydraulic pumps I'm familiar with are 100% noisier than a Velvet drive tranny.

None, if you frequently single handle dock a 40' full keel motorsailer. Typical installations are risk proof, IMHO. I self installed a Lewmar unit 3 yrs ago, its been a godsend to this 74 yr old...
