The pistons were only corroded to the cylinder walls, not rusted by saltwater. This was a big lucky break and as of now the pistons are free and the crank has a full smooth rotation. I...

Thanks for the reply. Yes I'm guessing the head will come off - I will have a torque wrench with me. Will I need a new head gasket when I reinstall or can I reuse the old one for the short term?
