Well, since you already have diesel on board, I would say go with that. Wrestling around, storing, and procuring propane is a just another problem. I try to keep things simple.

I think older Ubiquiti devices required the static IP. That is how I had to set my Picostation up. It seems that yours, and perhaps newer models, omit that step.

My Picostation sure is finicky...

thanks for all the great responses. The Ubiquiti picostation sure has turned out to be a real pain to configure. The Mikrotik equipment sure looks interesting and has a nice price point as well.
