Possible to Liveaboard 20' Boat?

Why on earth do you want a boat? a log cabin would be far more suitable for your needs, that way you won't need a man to clime any mast

When you're constantly on the go you need only a safe, dry place to sleep, cook and eat. Depends on the boat, of course, and the weather (can you shower on deck? wait out bad weather inside?) and the waters you cruise (jump over the side for a bath?) I know a couple who lived and cruised in a 19-foot catboat.

I am totally ok with a minimal like style. I cant see why you might not be too. One thing in your favor is that your plan is short duration. Long enough to enjoy yourself but you get a break to rethink anything that does not work. Actually you can reassess anytime. Whats to lose?

I had a 36 foot boat for several years. As a single hander, it never sang to me. I realized that.I just wanted a smaller boat. I now have a Columbia 8.7 and am making plans to moveaboard this fall, if I can get my consulting business to survive without me.
Maybe a 20footer sang to this guy. Anyway, its been a few years since the OP. I wonder if he made it.

I lived on the WA coast on my boat.... never seen a young guy in a 20 ft boat and there are only few harbours on this coast. So I guess his first question now 7 years ago was more rhetorical one. I hope he found what he wanted, whether it was a boat, a box or a car. He has not posted on this Forum since April 2010.

Having said that I met one guy in a 20 ft boat that sailed in his (estimated) 20 ft centreboard boat from Dunsborough to Geraldton with his small dog. Nice guy, just loved his rum a tad too much.
