Re: Never Again Raymarine

This is incorrect. CAN based networks have been around for at least 30 years and the 'bugs' associated with the physical network (which are usually due to incorrect installation) are well understood....

Re: NMEA to Wifi Client

My Madman Marine NTWB2 WiFi Bridge can join an existing WiFi network (as well as acting as a standalone Access Point).

You can check out a video of the NTWB2 here: https://youtu.be/3dCFxi8g8Sk

Re: Problem connecting STandard Horizon GX2000 and AIS

It may be that the Standard Horizon simply doesn't recognise the low signal voltage from the GME AIS. The GME AIS NMEA output signal is less than 3V so what you measured with a multimeter is about...

Re: McMurdo AIS

The McMurdo also has NMEA0183 wires which will connect straight to the NTWB2 terminal block - you don't need to use the USB connector to do what you want to do.
I have a limited number of NTWB2s...

Yes, with one of my Madman Marine NTWB2 WiFi bridges, except that it connects to the NMEA0183 port rather than the USB port. Feel free to send me a pm for more info or have a look at the video on my...

Re: Need Help With Navigation Electronics

Yes, I make a WiFi Bridge which can do what you want but the autopilot needs NMEA connections to accept waypoint / tracking data from an external source.
I use Transas iSailor running on my iPad...

I now have two versions of the remote control to offer, one of which also allows you to use your iPhone, iPad or Android device as a remote control in addition to the fobs. Battery life of the fobs...

Re: Tiller Autopilots

You might also be interested in a remote control for your ST2000, especially as you will be sailing solo.

Re: Raymarine ST6002 Troubleshooting

Does the autopilot's response (hard left, hard right or nothing) depend on where the boat is pointed? If so check for something located near the flux gate compass which might be interfering with it...

You'd need to look at my commercial posts or website link.

Re: There's Something Missing from this Boat!

According to the owner the boat is under autopilot and being steered from the dinghy with one of my remote controls. I thought it was a great video!

Re: Autohelm 4000

If it's an ST4000 then one of my remotes will work but if it's an older non-SeaTalk autopilot then you'll be stuck with repairing the wired remote.

The transducer itself can't be connected to a Madman NMEA to WiFi Bridge but if the chart plotter / display...

Re: iPad overheating

I mainly have the iPad overheating problem if the iPad is in direct sun.
Keeping it shaded also allows the screen brightness to be reduced which reduces the heat the iPad generates itself.

Re: Ais using iPad

Have a look at my NTWB1 NMEA to WiFi Bridges which are reasonably priced. I can configure them for 38400 baud for AIS use before shipping so don't be put off by the 4800 baud rate in my documentation.

Yes, an autopilot plus a remote control makes for less stress when solo sailing or with a green crew onboard, which is virtually like solo sailing anyway :-)
