Engine temperature with infrared thermometer

I was given a laser point infrared thermometer. A great gadget.
I have been pointing it at my d2-40 and note varied surface temperatures.

Hi, I had to replace broken lower gear cones on my ms25s. Did the maths and decided it was best to replace engine and saildrive. Engine was 13 years old and getting tired. I think it my be an option...

Thanks everybody. Final solution was engine on pallet lifted to hatch height on forklift. Then very simple lower on main halliard. A strop thru the mast base block for protection. Dead easy.

Crane hire 700 euros in my expensive boatyard. Standing rigging rod, carbon mast,
Engine 150 kg.
surely main halyard, dyneema, 10 mm, big boat harken foot block, will do it and save me some...

How to drain coolant water on md2040

It says on the manual that there is a stopcock at 2 o'clock from the oil filter. I have a bolt head there but I am reluctant to undo it. 103022.. Can anybody advise.
