Re: Odd request/favor of Bahia and/or Belize owners

I know this is an old thread (as is your post) but as it's just been revived I noticed the link to the same old headroom data document. It is wrong for the Bahia. For anyone interested, doing a...

Re: Odd request/favor of Bahia and/or Belize owners

That's an interesting comment because it is one of the things we put on our job list when we bought our 4-cabin Bahia. It's definitely do-able. We planned to remove the door to the aft cabin and...

Re: Double Outboards on a Catamaran

I would love to be able to raise the props on our cat completely out of the water and have zero drag and no anodes to change on the saildrives and props. But 2 x Yamaha 9.9s might be just a little...

Re: Flushing with fresh water

What we do day to day:

Flush well with seawater (approx 20 pumps for 1.3 metre outlet hose).

What we do when leaving the boat for a week or more:

Flush with a pan full of fresh water from...

Re: Navionics vs iNavX vs other apps

I haven't used iNavX so can't comment on that.

We use Navionics on an Android tablet and Garmin Bluecharts on the chartplotters.

As Gaelen said, if you have Navionics and Bluecharts you don't...

Re: Bahia 46 Sliding Door

The only time the door on our Bahia started grinding on the bottom of the frame was when dirt got down there. Cleaning out the channel that the door slides in solved the problem but I'm assuming...

Re: Belize 43 & Bahia 46 Core Construction

Now I've re-read my previous post I can see my wording wasn't quite right. For clarification (and confirmation) there is a wide section of solid glass that runs along the centreline of each hull and...

Re: Structural changes

What would be useful is for someone who owns an owner's version of the Belize to describe how these half-bulkheads are installed, with dimensions for thickness, etc. Photos would help too.

As the...

Re: Belize 43 & Bahia 46 Core Construction

Thanks for posting this. It is in line with what I already knew about our Bahia and was one of the determining factors in our choice of catamaran. There is no balsa core anywhere. There is solid...

Re: Bahia 46 hatch seals

No, definitely not refitted. All the hatches on our Bahia are original Fountaine Pajot installed Lewmar Coastline hatches.

Re: Bahia 46 hatch seals

Interesting. The hatches on our Bahia are the same sizes as yours (40's and 10's) but ours are Lewmar Coastline hatches not Lewmar Low Profile hatches.

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

Yes, I'd put an offer in, if I really wanted the boat, but the offer would be on the assumption that the "issue" (whatever it is) had not been addressed and everything I wanted doing to bring the...

Re: Lagoon 400 Bulkhead an issue?

Top Tip for finding a surveyor: ask the marina/yard where the boat is based for a list of recommended surveyors and make sure the one you choose is not on the list! We did that and then flew our own...

Re: Finally pulled the trigger

None, as far as I recall. We originally started off with a much smaller budget and didn't want to go above 40'. Time went on, we couldn't find anything we both liked enough to pull the trigger, so...

Re: Mast/Boom Sections

Ah, yes (sorry for length of time to reply).

So my gooseneck is upside down, same as kiwikat's. I wonder why? And the consequences of it being upside down? Hmm, will have to investigate.

Re: Finally pulled the trigger

Well done :thumb: It took us seven years of searching (written off as expensive holidays) to finally pull the trigger.

Note to brokers: never label a potential customer a tyre-kicker!

Re: Where is Hull ID number on Fountaine Pajot Tobago

On our Bahia 46 the HIN is just forward of the starboard transom steps, below the hull/deck joint, inboard side (facing the port hull).
