Finally pulled the trigger

I've silently followed this forum and others for six years, researching and planning our boat purchase. Well, we finally pulled the trigger. We're purchasing a new Helia 44 Evolution.

Looking forward to joining the ranks of Helia 44 owners in a few months.

Spear06,

You made a great choice on a new 2016 Helia 44 Evo.
1) When do you get her?
2) Who did you purchase from?

Here is a link to all the Helia 44 pages that you will want to save as your favorites.

Re: Finally pulled the trigger

Jimba, I may be on a new evolution in a few weeks. If so I'll take some pics and post here for everyone to drool over.

ZipTie, Provided all goes well with construction and delivery we should have her in Oct/Nov. We purchased through ACY.

Spear06,

Here is a link to all the latest Evo pictures from the FP factory. Uchimata does factory upgrades to the FP boats, so they were nice enough to snap a few shots.
We should be seeing a lot more pictures after the Florida boat show going on right now.

Dang... That's awesome ! ! !

Could have turned out a lot different, but I see you still utilizing the plural "we" and "we're ...

Some of us think.... Finally pulled the trigger...

AND....

I gotta new boat !

Are two completely separate events...

Spear06,

Did you get your Evo with an ICW mast?

Finally pulled the trigger

ZipTie we got the standard mast height. Did you opt for an ICW mast?

You're lucky your boat arrives this summer. I'm a tad jealous.

Re: Finally pulled the trigger

Spear06,

Yes we did get the ICW mast.

2 of our Helia 44 friends on the east coast have already had to replace everything on the top of the mast. it takes a long time to make it right again.

Will you be getting a 4 or 3 state room. We went with the 3 stateroom.

Re: Finally pulled the trigger

ZipTie,

We went with the 3 cabin version. That option was a requirement from the beginning.

What happened to those 2 other boats' mast that they had to rebuild? Was it chafing, did they hit a bridge, or was it component failure of some sort? What conditions were they sailing in?

Both Helia's were coming in from offshore passages for fuel in the ICW and they shaved everything off the tops of the mast as they were going under a bridge.

One Helia still has not completely replace all that was lost. And this happened 2 years ago. Both boats lost VHF, Lights, AIS and wind instruments.

Re: Finally pulled the trigger

We were on a new Helia 44 Evolution on Saturday, crawling all over the boat and poking heads into every nook and cranny (just the two of us so lots of uninterrupted exploration). It was actually really easy to do as the boat is undergoing installation for several aftermarket items and almost every panel had already been pulled off, giving easy viewing to wiring, plumbing, and system installs.

My wife still can't get over all the storage space, especially on the master/owner side. I think she's already planning a dedicated shoe closet.

I took some pics but they're mostly of access panels, location of items, etc as the boat really wasn't in "advertising" shape with stuff set all over for install.
