    Sorry Dude...
I thought that if the OpenCPN App itself could be acquired at the various APK Download sites, then the DOCS for the app might be available there also... Not sure how many Android users knew about the possibility of acquiring APPs other than at the APPstore...

    Please forgive me...

I see on your web that you went to Guam VA hospital. Are there any facilities for retired vets in the Philippines? I just need to get a ticket punch to keep up my benefits. I had to go back to the US last year to do so. I know you have been here a long time and might have useful suggestions.
    Thanks

    dHi Terry

You need to download software on both units to make the connetion over WiFi/LAN
I think the best one is TeamViewer. Download the PC version on your laptop and the
    app on your android tab.

    Happy New Year!

    Thanks Terry,
I am not sure I had seen this direct post to me, since I am a bit new to the forums. It seems to have a date of 1-10-2012 which seems a long time ago!

Looks like NavMonPC can do it. From the manual

    NMEA Logging
In addition to the standard log capabilities, NavMonPc allows you to log the raw NMEA messages being
    received.
There is an Add Port # option available, which prepends a unique input port number to each logged
NMEA message. This option can be useful when debugging the navsystem.
There is an Autolog option for the NMEA log.
It is possible to select or filter which messages are logged by using the NMEA Routing options. It is
possible for the NMEA logfiles to become quite large, so this filtering may be desirable. On the other
hand, it is better to have a particular piece of data and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

    yachtvalhalla,

Do you know if there is a way to record nmea data using NavMonPC?I'm looking for a good way of recording data for preparation of a set of polars.
Perhaps you know of a good utility? I've read that Hyperterminal would do it, and you'd just copy the output to a text file. It would be nice to have some selection and filtering however.

    Thanks

Hello Terry, I saw you posting on the OpenCPN forum.
Well this is the past coming back, sort of....
Last time our tracks crossed must have been in Suva, about 1988 or so. I was on a small blue Contessa 26 "Tai Fun".
Nice to see you here, and I'm sure you have a lot to contribute.
