    John,

Several years ago, you posted about a Westerly Centaur on the Big Isle you looked at. It was a 1969. I think it has made it's way to Waikiki, and on sale at the Ala Wai (Dock 800). Can't be many 69 Centaurs in Hawaii.
Do you remember much about this boat?
    Thanks

Several photos of boats sunk or aground at the moorings in Hilo Bay during that short period of wild winds last weekend. Assume you didn't have any problems.

John, I began sailing in Hawaii. Had a condo on Maui and met a History Prof in Lahana with a 65 foot formosa. My son and I joined him for a 3 month cruise around the islands while he collected data for his masters degree. My first passage was Maui to Molaki in 35 kt winds. Fell in love with it and went back to Calif and bought the Shannon. I see on Google that they have become very popular and most have been totally restored. I will miss her when she sells.

Thank you Skipper John for your kind words. I am going to miss sailing. We had planned to sail to Hawaii and spend as much time as we could there....its a beautiful place.

If you are interested, we can check shipping on the Profurl unit. They have to get to Hawaii some way.

    Just let me know.

    Warm regards,

    Doug

    Hi, Skpr John,
I'd like to introduce myself as I am not only new to this forum, but new to sailing as well. Are you on the Hilo side of the Big Island? We live in Friendswood (Clear Lake/Kemah area) Texas, but we have a home north of the Airport in Kona. My husband had an office for a couple of years in the small boat harbor in Kona close to the airport. If you are on the Kona side during our next visit, I would like to stop by and say Hi. We are currently leasing a 38' Hunter as a "practice boat" and working towards our 5 year plan of spending at least 6 months per year on a boat. I have completed some basic sailing courses but am enrolled in several more over the next few months. My interest right now is learning to race and learning as much as I can about boat handling, safety, the mechanical aspects, etc. Anyway, just wanted to drop a quick note and say Hi. Mahalo!
