    Hi!

Regarding your questions about the wind sensor:

    What is the refresh rate?

    200ms

What is the accuracy for wind speed and angle?

    Wind speed:

± 3% Based on informal wind tunnel tests. Looking into IEC 61400-12-1/MEASNET certification.

Note that the speed is programatically compensated on pitch and heel angles. This can not be turned off in current firmware versions.

    Wind angle:

    ± 1 degree

Each unit has a different error due to minute changes in AS5600 angle and positioning in regards to radial magnet on rotor.

If the wind sensor is not installed directly facing forward can it be offset in programing?

Yes the setup allows for a positive or negative adjustment to a certain extent.

If you know someone that is interested in assembling and selling these wind sensors for their local country/market, including USA, have them contact wallisandgill.

    Cheers!

    Hi Opie,

I'm also currently working on implementing a chain counter for my windlass using an ESP8266 and Node Red via MQTT. If I PM you, would you also be able to send me the details too? Thanks, Peter

    Hi
Yes Im using ESPEasy also so a peek at your settings would be great.

    Hi Opie
Just seen your post wrt ESP8266/NodeRed chain counter. I also use OpenPlotter/NodeRed/ESP8266 to monitor and control my boat systems and my next project was going to be a windlass chain counter so if you can share any more info on yours Id be very grateful. Particularly interested in how you differentiate UP & Down and how you translate pulses into chain length.
    Thanks

    Thank you

    Opie,

Some years ago, you indicated you were repowering your C&C34. Curious if you got the engine out of the boat without cutting the deck or companionway. Appreciate your insights. Cheers, Fred

Opie, thanks for the ATN Tacker. Priced it fairly, it arrived promptly and exactly in the condition you specified. One happy sailor.... now if the weather would just warm up...

No that is okay. Will continue to look for someone with a C&C33/34 who has a tiller so that I can get a better idea of how the tiller looks and were they put the controls.
    Thanks again.
  9. devilfish
Yes it does, and it should be easy to change. I was trying to find out what the tiller head and tiller looked like and were they put the engine and transmission controls.

Yes it did come with a wheel. However, the traveller/main sheet is up by the companionway and hard to get to while single handed sailing. Also, have been sailing with a tiller for the last fifteen years and miss the feel and response you get with a tiller. I know the boat was designed with a tiller but can't seem to find anyone who has one. Have tried cncphotoalbum but can't find much info on the tiller. That is why I am trying to contact anyone that has changed from wheel to tiller.
