Before shoving off on a friend's Sabre 38 from Miami to the Chesapeake I asked about the water quality in his tanks. He told me he drank it without problems but I still asked for a few cases of bottled water be brought aboard. He gave me a pretty good ribbing over it until a week after our trip when his fresh water pump quit. While replacing the pump he discovered nasty slime in the pump and water lines. Needless to say he changed out all the water lines along with the pump.

Daddle,

If that water tasted "funny", I'd hate to see what you thought tasted BAD!

But seriously, it's amazing what us humans can tolerate in the way of less than ideal food and drink, once one gets away from the fear mongers.

Glad ya got it cleared up, mate!

Cheers,

Jim

Reminds me of being on a plantation in Mozambique years ago, the well water was tasting funny. took the cover off and there was a big snake, dead and bloated, floating on the surface of our drinking water. No one go sick though.

Growing up in Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey........well, lots of places, we were supposed to boil all drinking water.

We didn't.

Had all the shots though.
