Honey Lamb and Rosemary sausages by Hellers in NZ, crumpets heaped with too much butter and a genuine NZ pie. Not on the health list but worth killing for.

Great TexMex enchiladas with shredded beef, lots chili cheese, hot salsa and a very cold Dr. Pepper. A bucket of dark chocolate morsels for dessert. GO COWBOYS.....

Re: BBQ, Mexican Food and Ice Cream

After 2 years of cruising we both agree Mexican Food is what we miss the most. I cook alot of mexican but we stopped at the first Mexican Place we found when back in the US for a visit.

When we were in Mexico eating mostly fish I missed real beef -even hamburgers. We were sooo desperate we ate McDonalds when we cleared customs in San Diego. Now what I would give for the fish (stuffed with veggies & shrimp cooked in aluminum foil) from this dirt floor restaurant outside Marina Palmira in La Paz! Go figure 

Re: BBQ, Mexican Food and Ice Cream

Hard tack (with maggots) and salt horse. If I can't have that, then:

Thai food
Indian food
BBQ
Chinese food
French food
Italian food
Ethiopian food (yes, they DO eat)
German food

Don't miss:
English food
Japanese food

And I can get Mexican food at the moment whenever I want, so I don't miss it...

As the Chinese say, I will eat anything with four legs - except the table - and anything with two wings - except an airplane...

Ah so, that means dogs and cats and bats are not safe with in capture distance?

Re: BBQ, Mexican Food and Ice Cream

You just can't beat Mexican food with anything, ever. I was talking to a guy from India, one from Korea, and me, a So Cal whitey about food once. We all agreed that Mexican food is the best. Glad I know how to make most of it.
Al Pastor on the big rotisserie thing like they do gyros, that I can't make but I NEED it. A big pineapple slice on the top, dripping sweet juice down the sides. Oh Man.

Re: BBQ, Mexican Food and Ice Cream

You just can't find root beer in Mexico. I'll bring you some in a couple of months, Zee.

Re: BBQ, Mexican Food and Ice Cream

after cruising for a year or so I jones for a big juicy hamburger! I dont even like hamburgers when living on land... go figure. I guess it's due to eating so much fresh fish etc on board.
