I have a similar old Forespar pole with 3 interlocking twist lock poles. The largest diameter is 2", the smallest is 1 3/4". Each tube is about 6'6" and the pole extends from 7' to 17'. I believe this pole is too small for our boat - 35', 12,000lb displacement, J=14', 15-20 knots wind moderate swell. For comparison, the Forespar site suggests LC 12-22, which has 3" and 2.5" tubes. I could just picture this pole folding up - is this usable?

The outboard end is too small for our jib sheets. To use, as mentioned previously, I could clip to the clew or rig a soft-shackle.

Do folks use a track or a mast ring to attach the inboard end?
