Anyone else going on this years Baja Ha Ha ? I'm going and I would be interested to hear about costs and the crew's share, if any!

Re: Baja Ha Ha 2011

I was on the 2009. Costs are all over the place. WE ran thru $200 worth of fuel and $400 worth of provisions on the way down for 5 of us. I had my family plus one crew and didn't ask the crew to share any costs. In fact I paid to fly him home.

Sounds like the other end of the spectrum. I just meet someone who did it a couple of years ago, the crew not only shared the cost of going down, but also shared in the cost of trucking the boat back. Five ways!
I wish I could get that!

I did 2004 and 2007. Crew paid for their airfare to SanDiego and/or Cabo. Capt paid all boat expenses, fuel, marina, entry fee etc. Crew each kicked in 20 per day for food and drink. We ate and drank real well, took a dedicated gourmet chef on both trips. Everyone seemed to like that split.
