Sailing on the Gold Coast, Australia

Hi All,
I recently came across this forum and have found it a valuable resource as a novice. I have owned a Piver Nimble for just over a year now and am still coming to grips with its sailing characteristics.

Being based on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia I have a great environment to learn and develop my skills before trying something more adventurous in my 'next boat'.

I would love to hear from anyone that has owned or does own a Piver.
Happy New Year (tomorrow) to all.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I once saved a Nimble from a bulldozer in a boatyard and was offered the boat for $500. I should have bought her. It had made two roundtrip crossings from California to Hawaii back in the '80s.
Congratulations on choosing the Nimble.
kind regards,

Re: Sailing on the Gold Coast, Australia

Hi John,
I recently read Quen Cultra's book, Queequeg's Odyssey and his journey around the world in a Piver.

I wouldn't attempt it in my boat but for me, it is great for day-sailing and a few days away. My Piver is a great learning boat and ideally suited to where I live.

Once I have a bit more confidence and competence I would like to upgrade to a Seawind 1160 or perhaps a FP Mahe or bigger.

Kind regards

Danny
