New to Cruising, from BC, Canada

Hello all...very happy to have found this site and it has helped me already. Just closed a deal on a trawler in Ft Myers Fla an hour ago. Is there always this much stress to getting afloat??? My stomach has been flipping since last week! Anyway, its settling down now that I have committed and I take delivery in March on a 40 foot twinD called the Lucky Penny. I intend to take it to texas and perhaps ship it from there to the west coast - probably Tacoma and cruise home from there probably next year but hopefully this year. Funny thing, it was built for a company in Edmonds Wa. and now I will take it right past its original home... My wife of 35 years and I have very limited experience with boats of this size (passengers only for a few weekends sort of thing) but I have always been on the water since I was a kid in one way or another. I sold a fishing boat in BC (overnite on Craigs List Xmas week!) and added the funds to this boat budget...Now I am looking for insurance...any recommendations? We have six Grandkids and 3 sons (notice the priority there) and they are anxious to go out with us. Keep your lines tight and see you on the water.

Welcome!

We bought from Lake Union and had good prices and service working with Rich Haynie insurance in Seattle.

Welcome aboard. Good luck getting the boat back to BC. We spent a year up there and could easily have made it five.
