New Member from New York City

Greetings!
I'm a new Member from New York City glad to make your acquaintance!<br />
I'm looking forward to learn from and contribute to the forum.
A little bit about myself:
In my twenties and thirties I sailed leisurely to Sardinia, Spain and France with some friends, I was also a decent windsurfer and day sailor. I moved to New York in 1995 After much procrastination (20 years) last summer I I took an ASA 101 on the Hudson both, to refresh my knowledge, and to learn boating terms in English (my mother tongue is Italian).
After that, I got so excited at the possibilities that I joined the City Island Yacht club as a social member and started crewing on races in the Long Island sound.
I’m looking to retire in a few years, in the mean time I want to get more experience, crewing opportunities, ASA 103/104 and beyond, buy a good old cruising boat and get going…

Re: New Member from New York City

Marco,

where exactly are you located? My club (Nyack Boat Club) does regular Wed night racing, and bunch of cruising trips during the season.

Happy to chat,

Matt

Re: New Member from New York City

Welcome to CF Marco,
Just hauling my boat this week in Manhasset Bay but will be back in the water
late March if weather cooperates. Keep boat just south of City Island/Steppingstone Lighthouse at Steppingstone marina in summer.
Your welcome to sail, we are just 22 minutes from Penn station on the LIRR express train.
Always on the look out for compatable crew for cruises.
Hugo...(Ugo)
