Re: Morning all!

You are 22. Nothing to lose. You are poor on land... why not be poor in water? Move to the coast by and live on a small, cheap boat. It's hard, but cheaper than living in the land. Living on a boat you will meet lots of cool people who are interested in the sea.

Ignore the cynical old men. Just do it. Chase paradise. You might never find it but you will have a helluva journey.Unlike many of the old men on this forum you have time in your side.

Been there done that. The best years of my life were spent chasing the horizon, looking for greener grass.

He makes a good point...
You can pick up a Centaur 26ftr for around 6-8 grand.. live on it in Brighton, Eastbourne or anywhere along the S coast..

Re: Morning all!

Maybe I started a bit strong! In fact my life is quite cushty. I'm quite an optimist really . The whinge at the start was more anger about having a long standing career path destroyed over the past few years. Still, might have a shot a becoming a helicopter pilot soon, we shall see.

Shanedennis and Boatman, you chaps have hit the nail on the head, though I think I'd set my sights a bit further than the coasts of the UK, with the right skills of course.

Sorry, Tim; For those of you who don't get the Margaret reference:

It was related to my asking of such an obscure bit of information. There aren't many guys round here named Margaret.

Anyway, thanks for the interest everyone.
