Katie & Mike -
If you haven't already discovered it visit cruisersnet.net hosted by Claiborne Young. It's a wealth of info for that trip, including some current data about shoaling, containers adrift, bridge closures, etc. From what I'm reading you might want to hop outside in a couple of places unless you have a pretty shallow draft.

Leaving for St Mary's

Katie and Mike,
Hopefully you'll see my comment on your blog about the wire for your DC system.
I have an internet friend in the Savannah area, and he may have dock space that you can borrow if needed. I'll be happy to forward your email address and links to your blog and forum. Let me know.

Katie and Mike,

As you move to points South, keep us informed; there are several of us who are quite familiar with the area (SC - GA - FL) as far as inlets, anchorages and marinas go - we may be able to provide some local knowledge for you.

Fair winds - have fun!

Congrats...not a liveaboard yet but will get there soon. I'm in the north and makes for uncomfortable winters. Still the boat needs work and will get all thats needed when the time comes.
I wish I lived in the south but I don't.
All the best on your cruises when you learn to sail...have always sailed myself but just not on 6 ton boats.
