Hey from Montreal!

My wife and I are getting close to retirement and I have recently rekindled an old dream from the bucket list which is to get into liveaboard cruising, explore the great Lakes and, if the planets align one day; cross the pond under sail power!

I am glad to have found this forum as I think I am connecting with the right crowd to make my dream happen

Good to be aboard!

Re: Hey from Montreal!

Welcome, neighbour. There's lots of sailing talk here, not that much about the Great Lakes - although some of us are prepared to help change that.

And while you're looking at getting started don't forget Lake Champlain. It's a very pleasant sailing spot, and very easy for you to get to.

Re: Hey from Montreal!

Champs pad is on the pond list, however considering St Lawrence seaway for home-based either as docking point or pied à terre. Either getaway me to the Atlantic coast

Hey, welcome onboard!

Canada a beautiful place full of snow and snow and snow ... sure you will like some ocean for a change, esp. if you return to your side via the tropics!!!

Cheers,

Re: Hey from Montreal!

Bonjour,

Looks the Montreal winter inspires similar ideas to everyone - we came at about same time (few days ago) to this forum. People seem really helpful - questions I asked got many and useful replies - http://www.cruisersforum.com/forum/s...19#post2305019

So, hope we meet somewhere!

Merci bien, George.

George, definitely looks like we share similar interests. This will be year one of my conversion from landlubber to sailor. Hope we can reach the dream! They say it's a small planet... looking forward to meet and share stories
