Hello from Florida

Hello crusisers!

My husband and I feel so fortunate to be joining your ranks! We are just about 6 weeks into boat ownership, a decade into sailing clubs and charters, and approaching an approximately year long Caribbean cruise with three of our four kids (one is staying landlocked for college) as soon as we can get the boat fully ready to shove off.

We're excited to learn and socialize and look forward to trading stories and experiences with you all. Our boat is a 42ft Catalina MK1 and we are also blogging at the below addresses so please stop over and say hello online or if you see us at sea!

Warm regards from the Madhatter crew,
Chris, Lisa and kids

Re: Hello from Florida

Welcome Aboard MadHatter!

Lucky kids!

Taking a long cruise in the tropics with your children sounds like a great plan to me and I bet your future voyage will be a very special family time. I can imagine if I had children how excited I would be to share that kind of experience with them. Lots of potential to see new things, learn much, and have fun together as a family too.

I truly wish I could have done this with my own parents and with my own children too (if I had any). Such a special opportunity!

On this forum site there are also some "social groups" that are more focused on special interests, and as I saw, they can be fun for their members. I am not a member of those groups, but you should be able to find them if you do some exploring of the forum website, go to Community tab and look for "Groups" or click the link below.
