Greetings from Panama City, Florida

Hi!
Dale Moore here. I'm a life long boater. Did 30 years in the Coast Guard.
I've always been a power boater but just bought my first sail boat, a 30'.
I'm in the process of learning to sail. I'm wanting to travel/explore, starting with the west coast of Florida, the keys and the Bahamas. After I get more experience, I'd like to range out farther. I'll move aboard next year (I lived aboard my Grand Banks while stationed in Texas).
I really like this forum. Looking forward to hearing (or meeting) many of you.
Take care.

Re: Greetings from Panama City, Florida

Dale,

You have landed in one of the best cruising areas. In time you will learn all those places on your bucket list are downhill from St. Andrew Bay. Just have to keep your stick shorter than 50 ft to clear the fixed bridges going east or west.

Hot right now, but will will start to cool a bit next month.

Where are you keeping her? Might want to hook up with the Panama City Coastal Cruisers. More a social club than cruising, bit a good bunch. Website will give you some meeting info.

We will have to have a beer soon.

Welcome aboard.

Don't be in too much of a hurry to the east coast. There is an awful lot of beautiful spots to sail on the west coast of Florida. Lots to see and lots to learn!
