Wow, I think I married the wrong man.

Right now I'm having a beer. This morning I painted the pool shed. Yesterday I mowed the lawn while my two year old took a nap. The five days before that I worked my paid day job and picked up the groceries on my way home. I am the cook and the household handyman, do all the finances, all the yardwork (which I used to call gardening), and every thing else that you could possibly think of. Oh, my husband does vacuum the pool and take out the garbage (on pick up day only). I'm actually not exaggerating.

We have pretty much the same income except I get paid for overtime and he doesn't. I take all my OT as time off.

I'm also cute and have a really cool job. My husband thinks I'm hot and the electrician (I had to hire one because I can't rewire the fusebox to the pool shed - rather haven't tried to learn and don't want to at this point) thinks I can't be older than thirty (but he was just flirting with me).

How'd I come to this? He's not even interested in boats (my husband - I don't know about the electrician).

I really wish I'd held out for a handy man ... I would like to split the work on the boat. Even if I'd still have to do the dishes...

Okay, I'm not having a beer ...

It is a libation though.

I don't know if Filipino wife's are so good or not. I do know that Indonesian wifes definitely are not, as my friend had to marry two of them - concurrently - to get the house/boatwork done. He is muslim so that is allowed.

Would you consider an alternative - at least on a trial basis?

Sounds good ... but I retract my statement about the dishes. I really don't want to do them. I'll exhange it for anything that has to do with the head though, in perpetuity.

I am an optimist - there is one out there somewhere who is my soulmate. I merely have to meet her

(and possibly tempt her away from another uncompatible mate)

- - On a positive note, after you get off land and living permanently on a cruising yacht/boat - then you encounter and meet couples who prove beyond a doubt that romance and that one special person does exist for everybody (not the same person, silly - a different one for each person). Then you search for that person and invite them for a season on the boat. Two people living inside a confined area 24/7 will either love each devotedly or quickly resort to murder/mayhem to get away.
- - But it does take work. It took me two years and interviewing 600 women from all over the world and inviting a half dozen "mutally" agreeable "finalists" down to live on the yacht to find the one person in the world who is as close to a soul-mate as can be possible in this existence. Sitting around waiting for "love lightning" to strike you rarely works, you have to get out there and find that one person for you.
