Re: Whale watching boat sinks off Vacouver island with fatalities
"This is the second fatal accident to strike a vessel owned by Jamie’s Whaling Station
, according to the Transportation Safety
Board of Canada
. In 1998, two people died after a swell tossed the occupants of another whale-watching ship into the sea near Plover Reefs
, not far from Tofino.
The ship, named Ocean Thunder, was carrying three passengers and one crew. Two passengers were rescued, while one passenger and the ship’s operator died."
