I hope it was a big chamber and not one of those coffin sized ones where you feel like a bullet in a gun barrel. I hated those, I couldn't even get my arms up to turn the pages of the book.

I dunno, can you take some sedative in one of them smaller ones while you decompress, or is that medically impossible?

Never asked, but I suspect that's a bad idea medically as you say. Of course we never had to spend that much time in a chamber because we only stayed down in six hour shifts (max). I'll have to check the tables on that though - that decompression time doesn't sound right to me even if he was down there two days.

I have to wonder if the guy even knew he was that deep or if the boat had even sunk. Obviously the effects of a stormy ocean swell would have ceased once the ship left the surface. Leaves a lot of questions begging...like how did he wind up in a sealed room...what was the air pressure like...how did the rescue divers know he was there. Be nice to have the FULL story.
