Tip for dealing with deliveries (UPS/Fedex/etc)

Just a tip we found out after we moved aboard. Having heavily relied on buying things online in the past, when we moved aboard ordering online became a problem because of trying to get deliveries. We have a street address but it's really just a mailbox in the marina, and delivery companies could not locate it, so we'd usually have to have it delivered to the local office and pick it up there.

After talking with our UPS driver, he suggested we put our phone number on our address line, and most of the time when we get deliveries they call us and we just meet them around the marina or in the local downtown area.

It works out really nice if you have a nice driver, although we've found if somebody ships something to us overnight it takes longer, because the overnight UPS driver just gives up after a few days and then when our regular driver finally gets it we get it quickly.

Anyhow, hopefully that helps somebody out.

Its pretty well organised here.. if your traveling and need something for the boat not available locally (chandler would have to order) you can buy it online and name a marine further down the coast, e-mail the marina book a night and ask them to hold it for you if if arrives before you..
They're in the main staffed from 0900-2000.. if your berthed there even easier.. Name, pontoon number/Boat, Marina address.. all mail goes to the offices.

Just read that the FAA has approved Amazon.com use of drones for deliveries. Hope that means they can drop directly to my cockpit.
