Re: Mini Washing Machine on Boat?

I don't get the 50kg for such a machine. I always assumed that a good amount of that has been added on purpose in the form of weights, to hold the machine steady when tumbling. In older models you could even remove those weights.

For an installation on a boat I would remove the weights and bolt the machine on a bulkhead.

Ahhh! At last! Thank you.

A jolly good read too, along with King Solomon’s mines.

Re: Mini Washing Machine on Boat?

Here is something I would consider, as your washing can be set to soak when required.

Re: Mini Washing Machine on Boat?

Get an inflatable child-size swimming pool and a toilet plunger. Inflate when and where you choose. Fill with water you choose, as much as you choose. (Many of us wash in sea water, rinse with fresh.) Wring by hand if you must. Or buy a roller wringer from auto suppliers, where they are sold for wringing rags and chamois. Pre-treat dirty spots. Modern detergent formulations made to work best with a 20-minute soak and/or agitation, no longer. Always a big factor these days is not just the water that comes in, but what you must do with the used water.

Re: Mini Washing Machine on Boat?

We’ve got a Daweoo Mini. Front loader. Runs off the inverter. Wall mounted in our port head. Uses 30 litres per wash. I can get a double duvet cover and two pillowcases in one load.
Love it

Yes a great machine, the one we have is a Daewoo Mini 3kg, uses under 30 litres of water per 30 minute wash.

Great little units, we have the Daewoo DWD-5MCRCR....

https://www.appliancesreporter.com/d...5mcrcr-review/

The load capacity of the washing machine is 3.5Kg with water consumption of 24L for normal programmed washing. The product comes with a dimension of 55 x 65 x 32.4 cm and 20.5Kg weight.

Re: Mini Washing Machine on Boat?

My washing machine uses 10ltrs per wash. Weighs 3 kgs. Is 500mm high and 350mm deep. Uses no electricity. Has a watertight lid and cost $5.00. Its special name is called a bucket. Works best when the boat is moving though!

And, don't forget, the electricity consumption of that model is excellent.
