Looking to Live Aboard In Rhode Island

This currently is just a plan, but we are looking for information so that we can start planning on make our dream come true. My wife and I will still have to work full time jobs, so this will be a consideration on location. Some of our questions will start with just cold weather living.

1. Do most livaboards cover or shrink wrap their boats and how does this affect heating the boat along with percautions that are needed?

2. What do you find is the hardest aspect of winter living?

3. How are the insurance cost or are the insurance compainies going to kill us on insurance cost?

4. Any recomendations on looking for a marina or reading materials on liveaboards.

This is something that my wife and I really want to do. If we find winter living is a little too much then we can always rent a small appartment for three or four months or we could go further south the next season. Any thoughts or suggestions are appriciated.
