American? $200,000 American is about 4 times what a typical cruiser would use.

Re: Circumnavigation, Two Year's Cost

so your buying a $60,000 boat, and your thinking its going to cost you 200,000 to circle the world? with a boat that small, with the exception of the big budget for seasick pills, you could do it for $500-1000 a month, as long as the boat is in good nick before you leave port.

here is a better idea, spend $200,000 on the boat, and $60,000 for the two years...

I will prefer to spend the money party on islands, then invest into a boat. the boat must sail fast,be safe and grt good sleeps

Re: Circumnavigation, Two Year's Cost

It is really hard to say what your costs will be exactly. Much will depend on your lifestyle and the condition of your boat. Boat repairs can get mighty expensive in some places.

If I were working with your budget....assuming 260,000 dollars, US. I would put 125,000 to 150,000 into a slightly larger and extremely well outfitted boat with cruising upgrades and then live on the rest of it for two years. But that is me. I am sure everyone else would do it differently.
