Cellphone Plan Toronto-Florida

We are making the move to liveaboard, driving south from Toronto to our Manta 40 sail catamaran in Palmetto, Florida.

We are looking at Wind Mobile $50.00 SMARTPHONE PLAN and bundling our phones so we pay $47.50 each.
[*]Unlimited US Roaming [*]Unlimited Data (10GB full speed allotment)[*]Unlimited Canada/US-wide Calling[*]Unlimited Global Texting[*]Up to $150 in Bring/Buy Your Own Phone Credits [*]Up to $100 in WINDtab[*]Voicemail+

We need to retain our 416 phone numbers. Would like any input on experience with this plan and any suggestions for other plans.

Re: Cellphone Plan Toronto-Florida

I have Wind here in Edmonton and often travel to the US. ITS FANTASTIC..

Just be aware, that in some areas of the USA you will need to manually connect to the network. At least I have had to on both my cell phones. Its when you leave one cell coverage area and enter another (i.e. T-Moble area, then ATT area).

In fact, it actually works better in the USA then it works here. It seems the US carriers have a better network.

Re: Cellphone Plan Toronto-Florida

I'm noodling around in the US. I like a basic phone plan. In my home base in Canada I have Fido, $10/month. In the US I have Consumers Cellular, nominally $15, but "taxes" raise it to $21. My Fido phone is forwarded to the CC phone, so I get all of the Canadian calls routinely, as if they were phoning directly.
