Re: Catamaran: Advice on a Dream---Ealy Planning

Financing a depreciating asset is not only a bad financial decision, it will restrict your personal freedom, which afterall is what cruising is all about. Buy a boat you can pay cash for and go!

Re: Catamaran: Advice on a Dream---Ealy Planning

There are a number of cats that fall into this price sector regularly. Think Prouts and the older Dean 33 (Not the 365). A friend bought a Prout 37 a couple of years ago within this budget in the Eastern Med and its a great boat.

If I would have had 40 grand setting around I would have bought it myself. Deals are out there and you have time to look. By the way, that cat was immediately sold, does anyone know if a forum member bought it? I would like to know how the restoration is going. I think that cat was a diamond in the rough.
