Well, just remember that I am sure there are many people on this site that you can count on to lend an ear and give you moral support and frankly, at times like this there isn't a lot that one can say, except to say that if you need to talk, you are more than welcome to chat to us. Hang in there mate ... when one door shuts, another few open (believe me, I have been there and done it etc etc).

Maybe my wife and I will find our boat and manage to get our house and everything sold quicker than we realise, so when we find our boat maybe we will bump into you and you will have a brand new bucket full to the brim!

Typical of a woman to start discussing bucket colour .

Maybe you should start a seperate thread (in the Floating Women sub-forum?) titled: "What's the BEST colour bucket..........for going RTW?" .

Just sayin'

I wish I had the guts. I know I have the will but for now I will take small steps. I have a lovely wife who I need to look after and she is keen. We want to live our dream and I hope that our abilities will grow one day to realise the dream and then step out further and sail the seven seas. With the support of the good folk on this site and the support of others, we will get there! Watch this space.

Re: Buying, Fixing, and Equipping a Monohull

Well so far we have seen steel, plastic and wooden buckets.

I looked for cement buckets but this is all I found. I think there could be a good market for plans to build you own bucket out of ferrocement.

Gotta go start working patent applications...

Generally, I do not get a new bucket right away (rebound bucket) It only causes hard feelings when we realize it was an emotional change. Kind of a bucket with benefits...
